Medicine Institute, Inc. (“EMI”) is the world’s first complete
Age-Management Company. EMI’ concierge-styled Age-Management
program enables each client to develop an intimate partnership with
their physician, who will create and manage an extensive, in-depth
personalized Lifetime Health Assessment and Monitoring Program (LHAMP)
to provide care for the rest of the client’s life.
EMI
was founded by doctors and business experts who recognize that the
current health care model is broken and desperately needs to be
fixed. The current health care system endeavors to treat illness;
it does not attempt to prevent it. We have a worldwide populace
that has grown accustomed to 30-45 minute wait-times followed by 5-7
minute doctor visits. But even worse, the data that physicians
are using to make their evaluations are incomplete snap shots of
largely irrelevant data collected over limited time spans.
Instead of consistently measuring the pre-cursors to disease and
monitoring same for a patient’s entire lifetime (enabling a physician to
review decades of data charted to show patient-specific trends) — our
current medical charts are largely irrelevant holding fragmented, episodic data that cover our last five doctor visits and a few labs if we’re
lucky. And the current populists answer? Government managed
systemization that will add millions of additional users to a system
that is already overwrought and underperforming.
For
close to three decades, the founders of EMI have been developing a new
Integral Health Model. We are now ready to launch the most
comprehensive Age-Management program the world has ever seen.
EMI’s wellness platform is wider in reach, more grounded in its
evidence-based approach and more effectively positioned to implement
key therapeutic changes than any other system introduced thus far to
market. The crux of EMI’s novel methodology is a PATIENT-CENTERED,
CONCIERGE-STYLED INTEGRAL HEALTH APPROACH TO AGE MANAGEMENT. Our
comprehensive program incorporates retainer-based services that
typically achieves far better patient outcomes, with true attendant
savings to patients, employers and insurers. At the same time, it
generates significantly more net income to the physician.
SPECIFICS
EMI
uses a menu of preferred, highly innovative and clinically-proven
diagnostic and treatment modalities. Each Institute focuses upon
vascular health, Metabolic Syndrome, obesity, hypertension and diabetes
as the linchpins of its boutique medical practice.
Metabolic Syndrome and Inflammatory Disease
Metabolic Syndrome affects more that 100 million Americans, according to
the American Heart Association, and more than 60% of all US adults over
age 60, with a rapidly growing incidence. Metabolic Syndrome is
now recognized by the American Heart Association and the Diabetes
Foundation as the basic medical precondition to the development of
full-blown Type 2 Diabetes, as well as diabetic neuropathy, diabetic
retinopathy and diabetic ulcers; Coronary Artery Disease (CAD),
Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) and Stroke; Obesity, Hypertension;
Kidney Disease/Renal Failure; and potentially many forms of Cancer.
Taken
as a grouping of diseases, Metabolic Syndrome and its primary adjunct
chronic metabolic diseases— principally diabetes, obesity, hypertension
and cardiac disease—serve as the major threat to both mortality and
reduction of longevity in the US today—affecting approximately 70% of
the population.
Until very recently, the only
medically recognized way of combating Metabolic Syndrome was the use of
various prescription medications for the specific diseases which
developed. Because the physician is typically not compensated for
improved diet and exercise that may improve the patient’s overall risk
profile, such lifestyle behaviors have almost represented a medical
after-thought. Consequently, the impact of these combined
recommended therapies has proven far less effective, with the
population of Metabolic Syndrome patients and its associated diseases
which continue to expand.
The EMI business model
provides a focused set of intervention therapies that are safe, and in
all cases clinically proven to provide a real ability to reduce primary
patient risk factors for these chronic diseases. This ability to
materially reduce risk factors—which can be successfully managed
through the primary EMI intervention therapies—include significant
reduction in key biomarkers such as weight, blood pressure,
cholesterol, triglycerides, fasting blood glucose, insulin and A1C.
